To start this year off, we conducted our election for the 2016 “Elected” Board positions (…results will be shared shortly) at our first program meeting which was located in Shawano, WI. The meeting was held at the Little Rapids Paper Mill on September 14. We had the opportunity to walk through their mill and watch the three paper machines at work. After the tour, we sat down to an outstanding family style chicken dinner! Right after dinner our section’s very own Education Chair, Bruce Bader, gave an amazing and interactive presentation on applying binary regression…..without using a PowerPoint presentation! For more on the September Program Meeting, see page 4.
Next month our program meeting is scheduled for Oct. 12 at the Liberty Hall in Kimberly. This meeting will be a joint venture with the APICS Fox Valley Chapter! As I mentioned last month, there will be guest speakers from the SCA Americas Corporate office that’s located in Neenah. These three speakers (Ken Saffran, Herb Giebisch and Dana Elkin) will be presenting on topics ranging from Supply Chain to Quality/Product Development! This will be a great opportunity to learn about APICS and to network across professional organizations….this will be an informative meeting! Visit our website at www.asqsection1206.org to register for this awesome opportunity!
As usual, if you have any interesting ideas for a program meeting or if your company would be interested in hosting a tour and/or sharing some of their best practices in manufacturing, healthcare and quality, please contact any one of our board members.
See you there!
