The leaves have turned and many have already fallen from the trees. The daylight hours are much shorter and the weather is definitely colder. As I write this letter to you, one of my last as the section chair, I am a passenger in a car that is headed north where the forecast for the weekend has the potential for snow. I don’t know about all of you, but I’m not quite ready for it. I miss summer already, the days go by too fast.
There was a great turnout for the October program meeting that was held at Moraine Park Technical College. It was really interesting to learn about the programs that MPTC offers to prepare students for careers in manufacturing. The MPTC tour was followed by a dinner meeting at the Elks Lodge in Fond du Lac. We owe a big thanks to Leo Metivier for setting up the meeting and dinner arrangements for us. Also, a big thanks to our presenters from MPTC, Tom Roehl and Jeff Quackenboss. They did a great job!
Reminder that there isn’t a program meeting in November, but instead we have the fall conference. The subject of the conference is Design of Experiments and will be held on Thursday, November 7. Be sure to sign up for the conference before November 1st to get the discounted pricing. This is some of the lowest pricing you will find for a full day of training. Details can be found on the section website.
The board members are working hard on completing the schedule for the rest of the winter and spring. We only have a couple of open months left, so if your company would like to host a tour, please let us know ASAP. If we can’t fit it into winter or spring, we can definitely start scheduling the fall program meetings. It’s never too early to get it on the calendar.
Enjoy the rest of your fall!
